Here are some ideas to make your English language studying more fun and effective:
#1 Do you love music? Find some English radio stations or watch videos on YouTube
Look for an English Radio Station that interests you and listen to it in your car while driving. Listen to “clean” versions of songs, sing along or read the lyrics and build up your vocabulary.
#2 Watch TV series or Movies in English
Learn phrases, not just individual words by listening to more English. Watch a film on your national language, try to remember every dialog. If it`s necessary watch it for the second time and then watch it again in English. This is the best way to learn everyday phrases.
#3 Make Conversation
What is a language for if not to communicate? Seek out native speakers for an informal language exchange. According to the Euro-barometer poll, 88% of Maltese can speak English.
#4 Practice reading English out loud (Read and Speak)
Books are not the only best source to read English but newspapers and magazines as well! Reading English texts out loud will train your mouth and lips to pronounce English words more naturally.
#5 Travel – Go Abroad!
If there’s a better way to learn English than being immersed in it while living and studying in an English-speaking country. Malta was a British colony for over 160 years, this historical legacy explains why English is one of the two official languages spoken in Malta. This, together with an excellent climate and the option to turn learning into a holiday, make Malta an ideal place for studying English.
