In September of 2018 we welcomed five participants from the ETUC (European Trade Union Council) to take part in a course which was specially designed to deliver English for Standardisation of an EU procedure. The participants were experienced European trade unionists from Germany, Italy, Lithuania and Finland. The course was designed in-house here at Unilang by our team. The topics of the week long course ranged from English for negotiations, to conflict resolution, to diplomatic language and even (some) grammar! The lessons covered the main areas of language necessary for trade unionists to improve their level of English, incorporating speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. The lessons were delivered in a very intensive manner, with a lot of exciting discussions and debates by the whole class regarding the topics being covered. Feedback from the course included:

This was the first course which we ran in partnership with the ETUC, and due to its fabulous success and wonderful feedback, we are looking forward to running the same course again this year.
